I no longer have crawling ants. I have flying ants. Or some kind of little winged bug that looks like an ant with wings. They've gone and mutated on me. And they keep landing on my computer screen and I keep squashing them between my fingers and it's gross.

Season six premiere of CSI tonight! I'm in a fit of anticipation and glee that's thwarted only by the bugs I fear will swarm and swoop and distract me from the wonder that is Gil Grissom.

ETA: Oh, god. Do I have termites? I'm going to cry. And, uh, call an exterminator TODAY.

First. A drabble for [livejournal.com profile] between_names. Sebastian Arcelus/Severus Snape.

Sebastian stole a look at the audience slowly filing into their seats. Yup. There he was again. Row C, Seat 11. After five performances in a row, the mystery man was becoming a fixture in the theater. During his run in RENT, Sebastian grew accustomed to fanatic fans but not with this show and certainly no one who looked like the gentleman in row three. Dark cloths, lank hair, sour expression – he looked like he'd be much more comfortable in a mortuary.
***

Waiting for the show to start, Severus flipped through his Playbill. He'd never tire of the Beach Boys.

That probably only made sense if you know Sebastian's theater history. But the accompanying icon is oddly appropriate.

Tropical Storm Hurricane Katrina is on it's way to Florida and we're expecting 8 - 12" of rain over the next 24 hours. I'm stocked up on bottled water, peanut butter, and crackers - the most important supplies in a power outage. I can handle the dark with far more grace than I can handle hunger.

I stopped at Home Depot after work and, on the recommendation of the Home Depot woman, bought some indoor/outdoor ant spray. It's better than borax because it doesn't actually attract the ants. It kills them immediately and, then, something in the spray keeps them away. I'm not questioning it. I'm just praying that it works. *prays*

Oh, my god, I have ants again.

A week away and I have ants again!

The landscaper cut the palm branch that was resting on my roof. My home is clean. I don't know what to do anymore!

They're back. They're relentless. They're winning.

It's gross and upsetting and nothing seems to work. The ants out number me 10,000 to 1.

Not even a combination of Gil Grissom and the Brokeback Mountain trailer can console me.

Why doesn't Sally just eat them?

  • The ants are back. The fucking ants are back. But I've set out borax bait in Sally safe places and this is going to work damn it. I will not be done in by a few thousand sugar ants.

  • Ellie Bartlett was the victim on an episode of CSI tonight. I've never seen her in anything else. Very disconcerting, it was.

  • Tonight's 7pm West Wing was "The Two Bartletts" which, mostly, is the episode where I love Josh & Amy. I know people hate her but she's sooooooo much better for Josh than Donna.

  • My sister and brother-in-law came to visit this weekend and, in addition to time outside in the sweltering, sweltering Florida heat, we went to see Batman Begins. Oh, how I loved this movie! I'm completely indifferent to Katie Holmes and Christian Bale but, wow, this movie was exactly what I wanted and needed and now I need more. And, shit, I don't know much about Cillian Murphy but his blue blue eyes branded my soul. Branded my soul!

  • Oddly, this evening I read two different HP stories titled, "Shelter From The Storm." The first Shelter From The Storm is by Isis and it's post war Draco/Snape. The second Shelter From The Storm is by Stella Hobbit and loupgarou1750 and it's dirty, kinky, smutty Harry/Snape.

  • Happy Birthday wishes to [livejournal.com profile] nothinggold! I hope you're having a fabulous birthday with your Broadway Boyfriend.

  • EDIT: Meep! New CoMC! Hermione has the baby!
