I'm so far from prepared for this TV season to start. A two hour season premiere of Bones? Too long even for Booth & Brennan! I don't want to watch many shows and I'm having a difficult time choosing. Currently on my definite list:
- Bones
- Criminal Minds
- CSI (until Grissom leaves)
- Supernatural
- SGA
- BSG (in January)

Toss ups are House, Sarah Conner Chronicles, Heroes (until Bruce Boxleitner is confirmed), Brothers & Sisters, Big Bang Theory, and Dollhouse. I want to watch all of those shows but the thought of watching that much TV every week stresses me. Maybe I'll just need to binge on those shows via my DVR every few weeks.

In other news, this week's favorite pastime at work is discussing the ever nuttier Sarah Palin. Now between_names reminds me why no one does it better than Jon Stewart:



Last night was my date with the guy from the market. Beforehand I met up with my friend Anne at her house for a drink and then headed out for a late dinner. Seriously, I can not go for dinner at 9pm. I need to be getting ready for bed at 9pm. But the date was great! He's interesting and good looking and smart and ambitious and he followed up today with an e-mail. Confusion abounds, my friends!

Dinner time. I'm starving!

I woke up and got ready to go into the office today and then, as I was walking out the door, said fuck it and went to see Eastern Promises instead. Viggo is fearless. So fucking fearless. And then there's David Cronenberg who creates films that make you uncomfortable, force you to think, and leave you breathless with the raw intensity of it all. There's so much communicated behind every shot. He creates scenes that I don't think could be done with anyone but Viggo. ETA: Vague spoilers in comments.

If you're looking for a laugh, check out this Viggo-David interview. It's from CalTV and it was the reporter's first interview. I use the word "reporter" lightly. I'm guessing the men will laugh about this for a long, loooooooong time.

So I'm a little bit twitchy (anxious, really) about not getting work done today but it felt damn good to skip the office.

Someone stopped by my office last week with Justin's 2008 UK calendar. It is hot. I have no idea why he's not releasing this here. It would decorate homes and offices and dorm rooms the country wide.

With TV season starting, I'm making a concerted effort to limit the amount of tv I watch. One of the things I love about the summer is that I don't feel like I'm tied to my TV or DVR. Here's what I plan on watching this season:

I'm a little unsure about Criminal Minds now that Mandy Patenkin bailed. He was the leader and the emotional core of the show but I love the rest of the cast enough to hang in for a while. And I don't know what my issue is with Heroes. It's right up my alley and I started watching it when it premiered last season but it didn't take. I can't explain it but I'm also not forcing it.

Besides these new shows, I have to get through ~64 more episodes of SMK and then I'm moving on to Babylon 5 if I can figure a way to get my hands on the DVDs without buying them or renewing my netflix membership.

My health insurance contribution is more than doubling in 2006 and, for that, I get a POS program rather than a PPO program. Wheeeee! Ain't health care grand?

I discovered NYPD Blue on Court TV and one of my favorite episodes, "Lost Israel," is on now. Part I was Thursday and part II is today. I loved this show. Bobby Simone/Diane Russell is one of my favorite TV love stories (mostly because I want a man like Bobby of my own and Diane had great hair). I still haven't recovered from Bobby's death. The show never did, either.

I really don't want to go to Cincinnati tomorrow and it's mostly about the flying. Can someone promise me that transporter technology will be a reality in my lifetime? Or side-along apparition?
