There's an entomologist on Dateline which forces me to, once again, remind myself that Gil Grissom is a TV CHARACTER. That doesn't keep me from thinking entomologists are cool, though.
I have a new guilty pleasure in the form of Criminal Minds fic. Actually, I can't believe I waited this long. Gideon/Reid and even Reid/Hotch are ripe for fic. Some early recs:
* Compulsion by Rushlight (Reid/(Hotch), G) As much as this story is about Reid's feelings for Hotch, it's just as much about the mentor relationship between Gideon & Reid.
* A Heartbreaking Equation by issyadore (Reid/Gideon, pre-slash) It's the dynamic between Gideon and Reid that gets me in the gut and this captures it perfectly.
* Sleight of Hand by rushlight (Reid/Gideon, NC-17) After a tough case, Reid needs comforting and Gideon is more than happy to provide it. Established Relationship.
* The Persistence of Memory by iscaris (Reid, Gen) The aftermath of LDSK.
Thanks to LJ's decision to give me many, many new icon slots, I have more 100x100 pixels of fun to squeal over. ( Come see!!! )
I watched Kinsey when I got home this afternoon. I love me some Laura Linney and she never disappoints but the movie wasn't quite what I thought it would be.
