Dinner party was a success! I was really worried that the food would taste awful but it didn't and I declare, officially, that I can cook.
Around 9pm, we saw two cop cars escort my neighbor home. He's 17 and about to graduate high school and I'm so curious to find out what he did. The cops went into his house with him so I can only imagine how his weekend is shaping up.
I woke up with a raging headache and, looking at the empty wine bottles, I'm pretty sure I finished off a bottle of red by myself. Today is a 2:15 showing of Iron Man and I'm going to have to rally if I plan to sit in a loud, dark theater for two hours.
I did watch Thursday's Supernatural this morning and the show continues to fill me with GLEE. Dean continues to fill me with glee. I just sort of flail around and squeal while I watch.
I'm going to have to watch last night's BSG again because there were four of us (one snoring) and I didn't catch all of the dialog. Some specific thoughts I had:
* From the prophecy: And in the midst of confusion, he will find her, enemies brought together by impossible longing, enemies now joined as one. The way forward, at once unthinkable, yet inevitable. I mostly convinced, now, that "he" is Leoben and "her" is Kara. I think "the way forward, at once unthinkable, yet inevitable" refers to a forced collaboration between the cylons and humans to find Earth. The only way they'll get there is if they do it together.
* Also from the prophecy: ...and then they will join the promised land, gathered on the wings of an Angel. Not an end, but a beginning. Kara Thrace will lead the human race to its end. She is the herald of the apocalypse, the harbinger of death. They must not follow her. Leoben called Kara an "angel" which I believe must refer to the angel in the prophecy. So is the prophecy saying that the only way the cylons will find Earth is by collaborating with the humans but, in the end, it will lead to a new beginning for the cylons and the end for the humans?
* Do you think it was relevant that Nicky was soothed by Baltar's voice?
* I've seen some people complain that Roslin and Adama weren't in this episode. They're certainly my favorites and I hate to miss out on them in an episode but there was no room for them this week. The episode was already packed full of jam and I'd hate to see them wasted just for the sake of screen time.
Next week looks insane. Promo for next week's BSG, “Faith”
Some other BSG links:
* The Souls of Cylons: Ron Moore, executive producer of Battlestar Galactica, talks about the theology behind the Sci Fi Channel series.
* Michael Trucco Q&A Part I (Anything Michael Trucco always makes me think of his surprise appearance at November 06 Stargate Con in LA. And, by extension, Martouf. :) )
* And I never do internet quizzes but I couldn't resist this one. I love the results, too! It's exactly who I'd want to be.
