- The Eat, Pray, Love book club was as awesome as I expected. Because the story was so personal, it was the most intense of the book clubs I've participated in and also my favorite. We talked about the evolving role of women in American (and non-American) culture, the pressures women place on themselves outside (and inside) of societal expectations, and our own personal quests. I don't know exactly what I want but balance is a solid start. I highly recommend the book. It's one woman's story but it resonates exceptionally well across varying experiences and backgrounds.
- Spears loses custody of children. I've got nothing.
- Stage and screen star Patrick Stewart aims to take his acclaimed Macbeth to the Brooklyn Academy of Music in February 2008. I'm there!

- My e-tickets for my photo ops with Katee Sackhoff and Commander Riker arrived today but I'm still waiting on my actual event tickets. I e-mailed Creation today because the con is next weekend and I'm getting antsy. Commander Riker! Next weekend!!
- I was nominated to participate in the Anti-Defamation League's young professional leadership program! Yay! The ADL was launched in 1913 and it's mission is to "stop the defamation of the Jewish people...to secure justice and fair treatment to all citizens alike." I was first introduced to the ADL as a high school student as part of a high school leaders program and I'm excited to get involved again. The program I'm joining includes a 3 hour meeting each month focused on one of the ADL objectives and culminates in a trip to DC in the spring. I've been looking to get involved with an organization that matters to me and I imagine this will also be a great way to meet some new people.
- I swear I had something else but, alas, it's gone. Happy Monday!
ETA: Oh, right! The thing with the guy I've been seeing since May isn't what I'm looking for (or, I'm going to guess though we haven't discussed it yet, what he's looking for). To that end, I have a first date with a new guy tomorrow night. I have first date butterflies.
