I have a business trip to London on March 10th and my passport expires in April. I had a nagging suspicion there may be issues if I try to travel internationally with a passport that's about to expire and, yes, there are. I've been thinking about this for at least two months and I'm so irritated I waited this long to investigate.
My plan: Take new passport photos at CVS today. Make time in my schedule tomorrow to get to the mail room and send an overnight package with a request for an expedited passport. If the passport agency is true to their word, I should have my new passport the week before I leave.
In other frustrating news, the tile situation at my Florida property isn't resolved. A rep from the tile manufacturer went by and identified the make of tile but confirmed that it's no longer produced and, after a bit of checking, also confirmed that there is none in back stock. His assessment is that the problem extends through all of the tile which leaves me with a few options: 1) retile the entire place; 2) ignore the fact that it's a problem with the whole area and try to retile just the kitchen area with a tile that compliments the rest of the tiled space; 3) retile the kitchen and carpet the rest of the place.
I think I need to find one of those "flip your home" experts to help with the decision. I'm (dramatically) lowering the price very shortly and I'm not all that interested in investing more in a home I'm trying to unload at a loss but I also don't want to make a design decision that reduces the saleability of the property.
I've done as much research as I can today and my plan is to ignore all of this for the rest of the day, enjoy my brunch plans, and then head to a friend's house to watch the Patriots win the Superbowl.
